Overview

Chonky is a comic reader for iPad. The app is built to require as little data from you as possible. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us or to third parties.

What the app stores locally

Your imported comics as well as your settings, bookmarks, and reading progress are stored exclusively locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

No tracking, no ads

Chonky contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking services, and no third-party tracking SDKs. No usage profiles are created.

Importing from the cloud

When you import comics from services such as iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive, this happens via Apple's system file picker. The app reads the files you select and creates a local copy. Chonky does not connect to these services itself and does not send any data to them.

Voluntary tips (in-app purchases)

You can optionally support the developer with a tip. Payment is handled entirely by Apple (App Store / StoreKit). We do not receive any payment or contact details from you – only Apple's standard, aggregated sales reports.

Live Text / text recognition

The optional text recognition on comic pages runs entirely on your device (Apple technology). No images or text are transmitted to us or to third parties.

Sharing with third parties

No personal data is shared, because none is collected.
